A productive summer for the Bluesquare team.
As summer reaches an end, we wanted to share a few of this past two month’s highlights with you all. Our team alternated vacation time and hard word, punctuating the summer with several in person capacity building workshops. Here is a recap of a few of them:
Ndiaga gave two intense training sessions in Burundi and the Central African Republic,
about our Performance Based Financing (PBF) data management portal. Those workshops aimed at training national data managers on our Iaso tool and its micro planification skills. The trainings were financed by the World Bank for the Central African Republic and Enabel for Burundi.
Sébastien, Raoul and Alex conducted a capacity-building workshop in Kribi.
This training gave insights to ministry of health teams about our Openhexa tool, allowing them to have dashboards to visualize and utilize malaria data in Cameroon. This gathering was also a great opportunity to improve customized tools for our onsite partners.
Apollinaire, Toguiyéni and Claire led a workshop in Burkina Faso,
whose main objective was to update the list of registered health facilities by using the triangulation of existing data. Having an up to date health facility registry is extremely useful to support health decision-making and planning at the national level.
Moritz and Yann joined our colleagues Rodrigue and Abdoulwahabou in Niger in July,
for the final workshop in the Enabel-financed project on enhancing the use of geolocalized health facility data.
Of course, our team across 13 countries did this and much more, and we continued our work on various projects contributing to the fight against (among others) polio and sleeping sickness. We’ll be sure to share those updates with you in the coming months.
What’s next ?
The Bluesquare team is determined to put the last 4 months of 2022 to good use. We’ll continue sharing our projects and missions on our social media, but here’s a sneak peak at some upcoming workshops!
5 – 7 September in Ivory Coast
Amaury and Wilfried will be holding a workshop on OpenHexa/DHIS2 configuration and Microsoft Power BI, Python and R. It will be organized by the General Directorate of Health (DGS), the Directorate of Health Information and Health Informations Systems (DIIS).
10 – 17 September in Brussels
Our colleague Mbayang Diop from Senegal will be in Brussels in a few days for a series of workshops on OpenHexa developments, Bluesquare’s data integration platform.
22 September – 8 October in Rwanda
Our colleague Alice will facilitate user training on the DHIS2 based Ultrasound data information system we are developing for the Health Ministry. This training aims at supporting the use of digital tools for ultrasound data collection, monitoring and reporting and is financed by Enabel.
And of course, more to come! Stay tuned for more information on future workshops, webinars and more from Bluesquare.
